Thanks to those who have put their hand up to help.  However Mike is still looking for a few more willing to help.

The club has been approached by the team running the Country Road Classic to supply them with 30 marshals for the 21^st April for positions from Cheltenham to Palmerston North (finish line).

If you aren’t planning to ride, but would like to help out on the day your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Encouraging recreational riders to affiliate to Bike Manawatu is proving a challenge for the 18-month-old body.

Most of them take part in the Sunday rides organised by Bike Manawatu, but not all are paid-up members.

So when the end of a three-month grace period lapsed on March 31, secretary Glenys Taylor was sent to the Sunday ride on April 8 to ascertain who were members and non-members.

The Manawatu Mountain Bike Club and Sport Manawatu have teamed up to bring you iBike for Kids - a fun bike event for kids who just love being out on their bikes!

This is a mountain bike event suitable for total beginners to more experienced riders, at the Victoria Esplanade in Palmerston North. This event is supported by Kids Bike Jams.

Ages: All ages up to 15 years. If you can ride a bike you can enter!

Events: Easy, medium and hard courses available. You pick the course you think you can handle.
There is also a Skills Competition so you can test your bike skills out.
Cost: $12 (Event entry only; including medal and goodie bag)
T-Shirts: Alternatively for $30 you'll get entry, medal, goodie bag, plus an event t-shirt so you can show off after the event!

Additional t-shirts can be ordered at $18 each (if you want more than one so you can keep wearing it while the other one is in the wash!)

I have a bike for sale (minus wheels). This would be a great bike for a first time rider or some who may want one for the odd ride. It is a 60cm steel frame (would suit a rider 5'10" - 6ft plus) with Shimano Ultegra 6600 groupset. Comes with polar fork sensor but there is no handle bar unit as it is on my other bike.

Willing to accept any offers in as is condition. I don’t know how much it would be worth.

Bike is located in Marton, may be able to organise viewings in Palmerston North if interest is high.
