End of term 2 Sunday the 24th of june was the last practice run for those of the school riders going to the North Island School Champs in Cambridge on 30 june and 1 July. 8 teams started their run with 2 from Koputeroa School. Very good to see them coming out to practice their TTTskills with the BM schools program. PNBHS Seniors were pipped by their junior A squad by 6 seconds. This Junior A team will do well next week. It was nice to see how PNBHS rider Kyle Davie rode with the Koputeroa teams to give them some tips on their first ride on the Rongotea course. Our Intermediate kids had an other bunch ride out to the turn and a race back to the finish. Those Y7/8 riders have made a huge improvement over term 2. Great stuff. Good luck to all the riders going to the North Islands. Thanks to all the parents for their support of BM school cycling. Have a nice holiday and we will see you back Sunday 22 July at Linton school at the Akers road circuit. TTT results RR results |

ITT Hiwinui circuit Sunday 13 May brought the Bike Manawatu school cycling riders to Hiwinui school for a individual time trial. The course was the Hiwinui circuit approx 17 km long and undulating from start to finish. Especialy very tough for the first years in the group. 37 riders decided to tackle the ITT. Some good times. Fastest time Jaycob Humphreys 29min 42 seconds. Most impressive ride Max Cousins. He rode more or less a similar time as 2 weeks earlier at the Colyton ITT. That course is slightly shorter and easier to ride. To put Max’s progress in perspective it took most riders at least 9 minutes longer to complete the Hiwinui circuit. So great effort Max!! A big thanks to the huge crowed of helpers very much appreciated and a special thanks to Carol who compiled the results. Results in full click here |
