Schools Cycling has kicked off
Awaiting for what is going to happen 24 School kids came to Feilding velodrome for the first School training. This year the schools term 1 program focuses on cycling skills. Chris Foggin Bike NZ Regional development Coordinator is on board to assist with the delivery of the program. For now the training aims on the newer riders but all the school kids are welcome. At this stage the type of bike you’re riding on is not an issue and parents are more than welcome to join in as well.

Results 14th of August
50 kids assembled at Hiwinui school car park on Sunday morning 14th of August. Riders were divided in to 4 grades with A and B grade doing 2 and C and D grade doing 1 lap of the “undulating” 18 km Hiwinui circuit. Some good racing on a cold morning with weather changing rapidly. A grade saw an early 2 man break Mark Findlay and Luuk van Wagtendonk. Both were confident staying away till the end but on the Watershed corner Luuk hit the wet white lines and came off his bike. Mark carried on Luuk inspected the damage and carried on a bit later. The bunch came sort of back but Mark was to strong and claimed the victory before Jordan Castel 2nd and Luuk van Wagtendonk 3rd.
