BM x KCC Recreational RideMemorial Park, Main Street, Terrace End, Palmerston North 4410, New Zealand
Please note later than usual start 8:30am.
Kapiti Cycling Club will be joining Bike Manawatu on this recreational ride around one of our favourite circuits. The route will take approx 2 to 2.5 hours, 60-70km. All riders are invited, from B-grade to Vet cyclists. The route will be planned for the conditions, aiming to have the wind at our backs coming back into Palmy.
Depending on numbers and riders (from both Clubs), it is likely that 2-3 bunches will be formed so that everyone can ride at a comfortable speed and keep numbers safe on the roads.
Meet about 8.15am, ready to start at 8.30am from the entry gate into Memorial Park on Main Street in Terrace End. The ride will finish at Cafe 116, Milson Line, for some social time before KCC riders head back home.

Ride Etiquette
Riding in a bunch can be the most enjoyable experience if done in the right way. However, bunch riding can also be a huge pain if people in the group don’t understand the rules.

School Cycling
Manawatu Schools Cycling (MSC) is run by a dedicated group of volunteers in conjunction with Bike Manawatu and the local schools.
MSC starts at Year 7-8 and carries on right up and until year 13
MSC is a winter sport run over Terms 2 & 3 – with races on many Sunday mornings. The Calendar is avaiable on the Bike Manawatu website.
Riders need to enter each event prior to the event date. Please check with your schools sports coordinator as to which grade to race in. This can change during Terms 2 & 3.
There will be times when parents will be asked to help at a Sunday race in terms of marshals, timing, registration etc.
It is compulsary for all MSC riders to have a front and back light and high vis vest when riding to and from a school race. During a race back lights must be on.
Riders will have the opportunity to compete at North Island Secondary School Road Championships and following this NZ National Secondary Road Cycling Championships.
