Perfect timing for mums who have sent the kids back to school – you now have some time to get out and do some training. If you are planning on doing one of the Womans Triathlons then add this in to your summer calendar of events to do as either a build up or as something else to achieve.

Bike Manawatu is working closely with Jorge Sandoval, the race organiser of these 2 events and we have been able to secure the rights to host in conjunction with the NZCT Womens tour a recreational ride.

The recreational rides will be held on Saturday 25^th February 2012.

They will start in Palmerston North Square and finish at Memorial Park.

We are offering 2 different courses to cater for different abilities.

The timing of these races will enable participants to watch the professional racers depart and ride on part of the same course. Long course starts 5 minutes after the NZCT Womans tour starts at 11am and the short course starts at 11.30am.

The rides are aimed at finishing prior to the finish of the professionals race.

We will share the prizegiving venue so every participant can experience the euphoria of their achievement amongst some of the best women cyclists in the world.

Long Course

imageStart at Palm Nth Square, head out Main St and on to Napier Rd, turn left onto Stoney Creek Rd, Right onto Ashhurst – Bunnythorpe Rd, left onto Watershed Rd, Left onto Reids Line at Hiwinui School, left onto Taonui Rd, Left onto Campbell Rd all the way to Bunnythorpe, Right onto Clevely Line, Left onto Tutaki Rd, left onto Kelvin Grove Rd, right onto Stoney Creek Rd, Right onto Napier Rd, continue to finish line at Memorial Park . 48kms.

Entry fee $40  includes electronic timing, race pack and lunch.

Late entry fee of an extra $10 will apply after 18th February 2012.

Entries open online in mid December 2011.
